Well, that's how the ad reads, but that was written at least a decade ago. A more updated one might mention the creaking pipes, the peeling olive green wallpaper in the hallways, or how the temperamental elevators never make it to the top floor. It might even include the cranky landlady, Mrs. Winchell, who spends more time interested in her cats than helping residents and has a few nasty rumors about just where her husband, the "real" landlord, went when he "mysteriously disappeared" in 1995. (That rotting smell on the third floor hasn't helped either. And most residents call her Mrs. Witchell.) Still, when rent is between $900 and $1300 a month, college students and mid-to-low-income families can't afford to complain too much. After all, home is where the heart is! |
